Three days into the new year. It’s the new year new me time!
What have I been up-to last week?
It was a very slow week. Since it was the end of the year most of my colleagues have gone for holidays. However, I decided to work through the usual holiday season because I didn’t have any plans this year.
The start of 2021 is not very pleasant because of the way the virus still impacts our day to day lives. There are some new COVID cases in NSW and it has spread across the border to VIC. Since, it’s the holiday season, a lot of people have been travelling. However, all the travel plans had to be cancelled due the announcement of sudden border closures.
This time VIC and all the other states decided to close the NSW border. In a way it is crazy, however, when thinking twice, this could be because of the holiday season and the officials wanted to limit the people movement as far as possible. It is particularly stressful for me because I have my wedding planned in VIC in late February. I hope this lockdown wouldn’t last that long. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I kept my self busy this week by practicing ‘DJ Scratching’ techniques. It was pretty fun! I am getting good at it. I need to keep on practicing. Anyway I have 4 months until the rental expires. That is plenty of time to practice and decide whether I should follow that hobby or not.
I also started preparing some proper training material for undergraduates and also to professionals. It’s not easy to make these presentations. However, I think now the presentation looks very good. I need to spend a couple of more weeks on it and polish it the best that I can. Once the undergraduate version is completed, I should extend that to a more professional training.
I am also planning on developing another presentation on FreeRTOS. This should go inline with the training I had from Bendigo regarding RTOS related development. However, that training was very basic. I still have not planned what I want to do.
How is everything else?
I feel the world is getting better. The vaccines are ready in some countries and are in final stages in other places. Therefore, we should be receiving the vaccine within the Q2 of 2021. Once that’s done, I hope that the international border would open and we would be able to go home.
Talking about SL makes me cringe because of the way that the government handles the whole situation. It is true that we don’t have money, however, the management aspect of certain key areas are less than poor. The credit rating of the country has dropped even further and naturally the economy is not in good shape. One can ask, when has it ever been in a good shape…
