1. A New Commitment

This is going to be my new commitment. A write up on what happened during last week, which will be my weekly journal. I’m planning to publish an article every week on things that caught my attention. Let’s see whether I can keep up with this commitment.

What have I been upto last week?

Last week has been a busy week workwise. Apart from that, I really didn’t do much. I started playing Assasins Creed Origins, the game is a bit old but I didn’t play a game for a long time and Steam has a summer offer these days. I really like the game. I try to play it everyday for sometime to relax. Unfortunately, I didn’t do any hobby work last week. I wouldn’t say that I didn’t have any time. I think I was just lazy and I start too many things without driving anything to completion, which is a pretty bad trait that I need to work on to improve. My MSc thesis presentation has postponed due to COVID19 and I’m working on getting my presentation ready for that.

I still try to go for a run every other day, however, I could not keep it continuous this couple of weeks. I should get back to the habit.

How is everything else?

COVID19 is still the hot topic all around the world. When it comes to Australia, the most crucial development comes from VIC which led to the closure of the NSW and VIC boarder suspecting a possible 2nd wave. VIC even imposed a stage 3 lockdown due to a spike in the number of COVID19 cases. I started discussing the possibility of moving to Melbourne and keep on working at ResMed with my managers. However, I had to postpone the plans because of the whole COVID situation.

What am I reading?

I read two books these days, the first one is ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ by Robert D. Kiyosaki. I should have read this book 10 years ago, however, it’s never late to get some knowledge on financial planning. The other book I read is a low commitment story by Daniel Silva called The English Spy. I read very slow, I think it will at least take me a month to finish reading these two books.

Any new learnings?

Apart from usual work related learning, I have not invested my time on learning new technology or tool. If I were to list a few things that I’m planning to learn in coming weeks, I would say Bluetooth, freeRTOS and Algorithms. However, it is encouraged to learn AWS at office. It is completely new to me, however, I think that could be benificial in the long run. A long list of things to learn, I hope I’ll have time to sink my teeth in at least a couple of these topics in the coming weeks.

That’s it for this week!
